Clonskeagh, Dublin, 18th May, 2:30 AM
In the early hours of Monday morning, 4 people from the direct action group Palestine Action Éire targeted air conditioning and ventilation equipment of the electronics company Acra Control, who are a subsidiary of the American defense company Curtiss Wright. This equipment is important for mainting the enviroment necessary for the production of electrical equipment, meaning that this damage may shut down operations for a period of time. This is the 4th action by the group against Acra Control, which has come into the spotlight last year due to reports that they supply Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest weapons firm, with electronic components used for missile platforms.
The actionists entered the site silently and proceeded to fill ventilation equipment with expanding foam in hopes of disabling it and contaminating the airway, forcing the business to shut down for a period of time. They left in a matter of minutes without harming themselves or others.

ACRA Control ltd. is a Clonskeagh based company which manufactures data acquisition systems and other information technology for defense and commercial markets. In December of 2025, the investigative journalist outlet “the ditch” published an article revealing a shipment of data acquisitions systems for missiles from the Dublin manufacturer to the Israeli Military Industries plant in Ramat Hasharon in Israel (which is owned by Elbit Systems) on the 5th of December 1. The ditch had previously reported on another shipment which took place in 2024 to the same recipient last year 2. Due to Elbit Systems’ crucial role in supplying the IDF (around 80% of it’s arsenal), the electronics company was harshly criticised and protests were organized outside it’s building. It was also targeted in mid-June and September last year as well as in February of this year by the direct action network Palestine Action Éire, with the network promising to strike again if the company didn’t publicly cut it’s ties to Elbit Systems. The electronics supplier had come under scrutiny before in 2006, when it was revealed by the Irish Independent that they had won a contract in 2002 to produce parts of the US unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) “Predator”, which was infamous for causing high civilian casualties and it’s use for illegal political assassinations. The company had received close to €750 thousand in investments from the Irish government through the Enterprise Ireland programm, making the direct involvment with the US Military even more controversial 3. In 2014 ACRA Control ltd. was bought by the american defence corporation Curtiss-Wright for €42 Million in cash, who owns the Clonskeagh manufacturer until now 4. Curtiss-Wright writes that Acra Control’s ACRA KAM-500 data acquisition system “has been used on numerous missile and captive carry platforms.” and has “a track record as being a key component in successful testing of the missile platforms.” underneath a picture of a fighter jet firing a missile on it’s website, highlighting the company’s pride in their weapons technologies and Acra Control’s involvment. 5
The Palestine Action Éire (PAÉ) actionists behind this new disruption of the electronics manufacturer cite the assault against Gaza, which has been declared by the UN Human Rights Council to be a genocide, as the main reason for their action. The Irish company’s complicity in the killing of what UN Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian Territories declares to be more than 680 thousand civilians 6, is deemed “unacceptable” by the network. One of the actionists says: “I think many people would be horrified to discover the target acquisition systems Israel use in their missiles to kill men, women and children across Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Iraq and Yemen are made right here in Clonskeagh, Dublin. Historically, capitalist governments such as ours in Ireland have never voluntarily stood on the right side of history if it meant betraying the capitalist class which they represent, and so it falls to ordinary working class people like you and me to take actions such as this. We have no hope in appealing to the morality of either the Irish government or these weapons manufacturers, as if they had any semblance of a moral conscience they would have already taken meaningful action against the genocidal states of Israel and the US. We tried peacefully protesting, we tried email and phone campaigns, we tried signing petitions and none of it worked. History teaches us in times like these escalations of tactics are necessary to ensure our voices are heard. The time for symbolic action is over, we allow this to continue with our collective inaction. ”
