After identifying local offices and depots of transport company DSV, Palestine Action cells in Italy, Portugal, Denmark, Chicago and San Francisco targeted them today along with an anonymous group in Germany, leaving a very public demand for them to stop transporting weapons for Israel’s biggest weapons firm, Elbit Systems.
In today’s action against DSV, actionists sprayed buildings with symbolic blood-red paint, rendered doors inoperable with cement, and disabled transport vehicles. Slogans were painted, telling DSV to “Drop Elbit!”
Elbit Systems are Israel’s biggest weapons company, producing 85% of the military’s killer drone fleet, and land-based equipment. Their weapons, which they boast of being “battle-tested” on Palestinians, have been used throughout the ongoing genocide in Gaza, in the Palestinian West Bank, against Syria, and Yemen, and currently, against Lebanon and Iran.
Elbit drones have also been used to attack international aid flotillas in international waters. International direct action groups have been targeting Elbit, its subsidiaries, and companies supporting their operations, like DSV, for several years now, with considerable success. Previous transport companies who moved Ebit’s parts and weapons have withdrawn under pressure from Palestine Action in Britain, before the group was proscribed in the United Kingdom.
On today’s international co-ordinated action, a spokesperson for Palestine Action Global commented: “The full horrors of Israel’s crimes are increasingly exposed, as the entity continues to mass murder people across the region.
Israel is continuing its attempts to destroy the Palestinian people, attempting to expand its borders into Lebanon and Syria, by a brutal invasion, and trying to drag the world into World War 3, by attacking Iran.
While people across West Asia are slaughtered by Israeli bombs, and the world is thrown into turmoil, Elbit Systems are cashing in. To be able to make weapons, they rely on international manufacture, logistics, and supply, the latter being facilitated by DSV.
Without DSV, the weapons could not be assembled and used, like Elbit, they are a key component of the Israeli weapons industry. So long as DSV continue to make blood money by facilitating genocide, they can expect to be targeted, as they have been today. We have one message for them: Drop Elbit!”
