In the early hours of Monday 27th July, Palestine Action teams, in 5 countries, carried out co-ordinated actions against facilities belonging to Danish-owned transport and logistics company, DSV.
DSV have been repeatedly targeted by Palestine Action because they are transporting weapons and weapon components for Israel’s biggest arms manufacturer, Elbit Systems, who supply 85% of the Israeli military’s killer drone fleet, and 80% of their other weaponry and equipment. By transporting these weapons, DSV are enabling genocide in Gaza, and the targeting of civilians across West Asia.
In this latest co-ordinated international action, DSV facilities were targeted in Hamburg, Germany; Rotterdam, in The Netherlands; Cork, in Ireland; Valencia, in Spain; and Montreal in Canada. All the facilities had multiple windows smashed, and were spayed with blood-red paint, symbolic of the blood shed by Elbit’s weaponry. Graffiti on the Valencia site read: “DROP ELBIT, FREE PALESTINE.”
A spokesperson for the Hamburg team, who sprayed “THE GENOCIDE BEGINS HERE” on the DSV facility, said: It’s the fourth time this location was targeted, and we will be coming back until DSV cuts ties with Elbit!”
A spokesperson for the team that carried out the Cork action said: “It’s time that companies like DSV cop on. How many partners must people force to divest until they understand that we are not messing. This genocidal transport company has brought people together from all across the world because we all agree that genocide is not a legitimate business practice, that supplying weapons to murder an entire people is an unfathomably reprehensible thing to even think about. So it’s a matter of time, really, people are united with a vision and a strategy. DSV, you might as well save us all the time, and stop serving Elbit Systems now.”
