Tuesday 5th of May, 3 am, Little Island, Cork; Direct Actionists target logistics giant DSV at their warehouse in Little Island. They damaged the building by smashing windows and covering it in red paint. This is the second action against DSV taken in Ireland by Palestine Action Éire in the past weeks, who cite the company’s logistics services for the Israeli weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems.

Danish logistics giant DSV has 20 sites on the island, which is only a fraction of its 3000+ location network which spans over 90 countries. The company, which provides sea, air and road transport services has come under scrutiny in the past months due to their ties to Elbit Systems, which produces 85% of the weapons and vehicles for the Israeli Defense Forces. DSV is one of the only six shipment companies licensed to transport military equipment from British factories and ships weapons and military components for Elbit Systems, and for its subsidiary UAV Tactical. They ship Elbits cargo from Europe, Britain and Ireland to Ashdod, Israel on a weekly basis. In February 2024, another shipment company transporting Elbit’s weapons was forced to cut ties with Elbit following a series of direct actions by Palestine Action and public pressure.
Palestine Action Éire justify this action by highlighting Israel’s genocide, as the UN Human Rights Council has declared it, in Palestine and the lack of action taken by the Irish Government. They believe that allowing the manufacture and transport of Israeli weapons is criminal and makes Ireland complicit. They have repeatedly called for citizens to sabotage and disrupt companies with ties to the Israeli arms supply.
An Actionist who damaged DSV in Cork says “There are companies and sites in all our neighbourhoods that are supporting and trading with genocidal Elbit Systems. We could no longer stand by and be silent. None of the marches and petitions changed anything so we resorted to the only thing left to us. We will continue to disrupt this deeply complicit arms transporter until it cuts ties. Free the people, free the land.”
